Additional Cyberpower CP685AVR UPS - 685VA/390W AVR 8-Outlet RJ11/RJ45 Compact Design EMI/RFI USB Information
|
The AVR Series CP685AVR UPS is an ideal unit for basic to mid-level computer systems. The 685AVR guards against surges, spikes, sags, and brownouts, and protects your computer system and valuable data during a power outage. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) monitors incoming AC power and maintains a safe voltage level. This model also has full dataline protection: RJ11/RJ45 (phone, fax, Ethernet, network, DSL) and RG-6 coax (DSS, cable modem, satellite, cable TV). PowerPanel PE ¿ Power Management supplements the backup/surge protection by monitoring the status of your UPS and safely shuts down your system in event of a power outage. The standalone design allows for vertical, horizontal, or out-of-site wall mount. ¿Surge-Only¿ outlets are perfect for the addition of peripherals such as monitors, printers, scanners, iPods, or CD/DVD players. * Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) - AVR technology will stabilize the AC signal and maintain a safe voltage level without switching to battery-mode. This conserves battery life, and delivers a cleaner signal to your connected equipment. * GreenPower UPS¿ - GreenPower UPS¿ technology significantly reduces UPS energy costs by bypassing the AVR transformer when incoming AC power is clean. This not only dramatically reduces UPS utility consumption, but also reduces heat dissipation and system noise. * Ultra-Quiet UPS - The combination of an advanced ventilation design, high-end system components, and GreenPower UPS¿ technology give CyberPower UPS systems the lowest sound emissions in its class. This makes our UPS perfect for desktop applications, audio/video installations, and quiet workstation environments. * USB Connectivity - An HID-compliant USB port enables full integration with the built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. * PowerPanel PE ¿ Smart Management Software * 3-year Warranty

What Customers Say About Cyberpower CP685AVR UPS - 685VA/390W AVR 8-Outlet RJ11/RJ45 Compact Design EMI/RFI USB:

The CPU was using only half of the available power according to their software and it couldnt even handle that. Unless you are supplying backup power to a night light forget this product and buy an APC or Tripplite. Tech support's fix buy a different computer. Not only is the tech support a bunch of clowns -took 3 days to tell me that this unit is only good as a paper weight- but the product is junk. All I had plugged into the thing was a CPU and it tripped the breaker on a power outage. My fix- go elsewhere if you are using it to power a computer, buy it if you are powering a night light. Not to mention their tech support was giggling and laughing the whole time I was on the phone with them, I finally had to talk to another rep because the first one was busy playing.
I purchased this to use with a home theater setup. It has been working beautifully since it was set up, and I have no complaints.
I bought this for a backup for my DLP tv, wireless router and cable box. It works well after testing and had sufficient time to shut down the tv for the fan to cool off the bulb. The only Negative I have is the unit gives off a metallic smell that is quiet strong. I have this unit in a good sized family room 20x15 and we can smell it and I would suggest another choice if this will be going into a smaller room as its not a pleasant smell.
I used this unit very lightly in a temperature controlled home environment to simply provide backup power for my DSL modem and Netgear wireless access point. Meanwhile, various APC units I have on other computers have been running for many years, one of them over ten, without failure. In this hardly demanding application the unit completely failed in less than two years. The battery overheated, bulged, distorted, and nearly lost containment. Sure I have had to replace a couple of battery packs over those long terms, but not once did an APC battery overheat and bulge out the case. No more off-brand UPS units for me thank you.
It is the second one I buy for my home elevator and it goes bad.
